Raise up 100 guitar players who are trained in the rudiments of leading worship in small groups.
Because worship is a priority of God's church, then wouldn’t it be amazing if we were able to equip enough worship leaders so that every small group could have someone who could do a reasonable job leading worship?
A worship leader needs four things: love for God, love for God's people, some basic instrumental skills and some basic leadership. While singing is a plus, it's not a requirement. It’s reasonable to anticipate that after a few months, many people can learn to play basic songs on the guitar and lead worship in a small group!
1. We need guitarists! You can be brand new or have played before. If you don't own a guitar, let us know and see need number 2.
2. Enough guitars! Well... one each for those interested in playing. These could be purchased by members of the congregation for their own use or donated by people who don’t want to learn to play themselves. Many people own guitars they would love to see used for God’s kingdom.
3. Each player will need a clip-on guitar tuner, a capo, a set of strings and some guitar picks. All of these things will be available through the church when you signup. ($20-25)
1. A significant number of guitar players for small groups and/or personal edification.
2. An increase in awareness and engagement in all musical worship for those who are getting trained.
3. Increased engagement in musical worship throughout the church as these new worship leaders participate in the musical worship of the church even while in the congregation.
4. A really fun way to enrich our congregation and deepen our worship and work in the Kingdom at the same time.
5. A small group of outliers who gain significant guitar skills and exceed the expected playing ability who may grow into other worship leadership roles.
